Out of the Comfort Zone

I can write one hundred thousand words about people who don't exist and yet not have a clue about what to say about myself. Yet I find I must come up with things to say if I want you to get to know me, and market my books.

Marketing is a huge challenge since, I am an introvert, and talking about myself and my work feels like bragging. Boasting is something I have been trained to avoid all my life.

When someone takes an interest in your life and asks questions you can answer it becomes much easier. I am really grateful to J. M. Northrup, another author who did just that. If you would like to know more about me press the button below and it will transfer you to her site and the interview.

Help for the Journey

The editorial advice I received from Christie Stratos of Proof Positive has transformed my scribblings into something approaching readworthy. Her critiques and insights elevated my writing to the next level.

Although I did not hire Claire Mulligan of Luminous Edits, her response to my query gave me an entire Master's level course on fiction writing in a single email and pushed me farther along my writing journey.

My advice to writers is this: Hire a professional editor before you publish, they are worth every penny you pay them.
